On April 25, 1952, at the Hôtel Carlton in Cannes (South of France) nine national Presidents reunited , created the " Union Européenne Portiers Grands Hotels (UEPGH). Each year, ever since, all
national sections celebrate this historic moment.

PANAMERICAN CONGRESS IN VANCOUVER, CANADA
Held between the 18th and 21st of April 2008 with a total participation exceeding 350 delegates from all national Panamerican member countries
of "UICH" : USA, CANADA, MEXICO, BRAZIL, ARGENTINA (CHILE came as
observer)
The Canadian board under the hard work and the supervision of Mr. Geoffrey Argue, their National President provided all participants with a magnificient program. Well prepared Meetings, excellent
Educational and of course lots of high quality entertaining made this long week-end a very productive and enjoyable Clef d'Or encounter.
It was " first time " for me and I very sincerely hope not to leave to that.
In my function as your International President it enabled me to meet with 5 different member countries and share with them all some very privileged moments. All my most sincere congratulations to
Mrs Nelly Duarte President for Mexico, to Mrs. Roberta Bezzera President for Brazil , to Mr.Alejandro Noya representing Mr. Pablo Castro President for Argentina, to Mr. Maurice Dancer President
for the USA and of course to Mr. Geoffrey Argue, President for Canada. Last but not least I wish to congratulate the excellent coordination of Mr. Shujaat Khan, in his capacity as
Zone Director for the Americas.
The International board was represented not only by "yours truly " but also by 1st Vice International President Mr. Robert Watson, Mr. Michael Romei Assistant General Secretary representing
Mrs. Virginia Casale who, much to her distress and to our great loss (and only because of last minute heavy work commitment ) had to cancel her trip. Also present, Mr. Denis O'brien our
Past International President and Mrs Marjorie Silverman of the Comité des Sages (Mr. Aldo Giacomello, Comité des Sages, not being able to participate sent his good wishes)
After Copenhagen and before our next encounter in China in March 2009 there will be, i am sure, many more opportunities for me to meet with as many of you as possible.
