Dear Member,
Dear Visitor,
Dear Friend,

We have just celebrated the 54th international congress of our Association in Vienna, from March 18 to March 23, 2007, with more than 500 participants.

All our thanks and our most sincere congratulations to the organizing country. The kindness of President Pitzer as well as that of all the Austrian team including the students of the School of Tourism of Gleichenberg, offered us a dazzling program.

Reflexion on the appropriate steps to take as to better operate our Association, actualization of our communication systems, motivation to gather our young members even more around us, and consolidation of our Friendship are the bases of our meetings.

During the General Assembly of March 22, 2007, all 34 Presidents of the Member Sections in attendance showed me their confidence by electing me, for a two years mandate, President of the Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels “Les Clefs d’Or”.

I commit myself with your support to continue all the positive actions that have been carried out in the past, to bring up to date all actual ones and anticipate the future of our association, in compliance with our statutes and in respect to our code of ethics.

55 years ago, our prestigious predecessors started a long walk that was to lead to perfection in service and performance in our daily tasks and our duties. We will continue this way, we will modernize our operations, to give even more prestige to our trade as to our splendid association. Let us keep intact our Friendship, and keep the spirit of “Les Clefs d’Or”.

Copenhagen will welcome us in 2008, and then China in 2009, Germany took an option for 2010, Canada and the United Kingdom respectively positioned themselves for 2011 and 2012.

Good bye Waltzing Vienna. See you all soon in Copenhagen

Roger BASTONI
International President
