LES CLEFS D'OR JAPAN

In Japan, back in 1980's, the word "concierge" was not commonly prevailed. Japanese hotels have traditionally been very service oriented, but for the foreign guests looking for the concierge, unfortunately he/she was not there. The situation gradually and steadily changed in 1990's as foreign companies capitalized and opened new hotels such as the Four Seasons, Westin, Inter-Continental and Park Hyatt Tokyo.

Under the umbrella of Les Clefs d'Or Singapore Chapter, in September 1995, "Key News Japan" started to be published on a monthly base. In December, Holly's book "Ultimate Service" was published in Japanese language. With highly motivated Committee Members, together with our supporting preliminary members, the organization increased to 13 concierge members, 24 preliminary members across the country and 8 Associate Corporate members. Thus we became a member country of Les Clefs d'Or in Nov. 1997, in Budapest, Hungary.
